British GT season kicks off with a podium

Our British GT season kicked off with a podium at Oulton Park. I was commited at Thruxton managing and coach our Ginetta G40 Junior entrant, Ryan Ratcliffe so missed any practice and qualifying for the race. However, my team mate Chris Bialan stood in brilliantly and qualified the car 2nd for race one.

My first time in a Lotus of any type at Oulton was in the wet 10 minute warm up on Monday morning and I imediatley knew it was going to be a long day!

The 2-Eleven with its newly homologated brake system and light weight is very competeant under braking and in a straightline but with over 530kgs of the 770kg total weight hanging over the rear wheels and performance ride height penalty of 5mm the car was very uninspiring into corners into corners. I have no doubt with some testing we can compromise this problem. Our next race is Knockhill on the 6th and 7th May.
