Season so far

The season continues to go well although Oulton Park and Caterham’s was still a bug bear. 16 Year old Olli White won his first Saxmax race at Brands Hatch in April but was Robbed of a second win by a mechanical issue. Ryan Ratcliffe struggled a bit Brands but this is his first year so will learn to push through racings ups and downs and create more ups. Both drivers head up to Anglesey this weekend for round 3 and 4 of the Championship.

Oulton Park was typically a bad weekend for Fauldsport in Caterhams. James Sharrock DNF’d in race one with a broken exhaust and held on to 4th in race 2 with a broken gearbox, however, highly experience track day man Jonny Leroux finally pulled his finger out in race 2 and actually led the race a few times before dropping back to 3rd as the track day approach took hold. I have no doubt he will be a man to watch in the coming races now he is finding his mind set.

In Roadsport A Jonathan Ramsay found the missing confidence to push hard and he fought highly creditably through to 3rd overall from outside the top 10 in both races making us all very happy.

In Roadsport B Trevor Fowell took a close second in race 1 after missing a gear out of the last corner but made a much bigger mistake in race 2 finishing 4th. Paul Brannan saved the day however by taking 2nd in race 2 and proving once more he is going to be a force to recon with in coming Caterham seasons.

Lets hope for better from Donngton Park this weekend!

Flick Haige continues to be the class of the Caterham Classic Graduates Championship despite regularly finishing 2nd to the same driver. In car camera footage at different venues confirms she is at a disadvantage in the power stakes so her results don’t actually do her potential justice.

Tim Clarke is still setting the pace in the Nippon series with his relatively unmodified Mitsubishi Evo. You may have seen his rather large picture in Autosport a couple of weeks ago leading at Pembrey.
