Fauldsport dominate the Caterham Roadsport teams battle

Despite some silly incidents for a lot of people at Cadwell Park in part due to the very strong head winds the Fauldsport crew continue to dominate the Caterham Roadsport A category, leading the teams championship comfortably from Team Pirana which, incidentally is led by ex star pupil Gary Halcrow.

Fauldsport drivers Lewis Hopkins, James Sharrock and JJ O’Malley currently occupy 3rd to 5th places in the drivers championship. JJ having two 3rd places despite being quite unwell has put himself back in contention after a very poor showing at Castle Combe. Paul Storton is starting to regain his confidence in the upgraded A spec car and is up to in 26th overall.

In fact the top 10 contains no fewer than 6 drivers who have been under my guidance. Always impressing with his pace is Adam Ferrenczi who currently lies 7th in his first ever season of racing.

The second qualifying session demonstrated the advantage of being with a team as organised as Fauldsport, with me acting as driver coach/team manager. Unconventionally we sent JJ O’Malley and Lewis Hopkins out together to tow each other through the head winds on the back straight. This ensured JJ took pole position with Lewis taking 3rd after an uncharacteristically messy session.

You can see the team in action at Oulton Park on the 12th July where we hope to find our first race win which has so far been elusive. Either that or I’m jumping in a seat!!!
